Paint, Brushes, White Lightening Cleaner, furniture find NOW WHAT???

How do I start?

  • First examine your piece.  Prepare the White Lightening Cleaner and clean your item.  After wiping off cleaner, clean with a dampened cloth.  Repeat if necessary
  •  Examine your item and lightly sand any imperfections.  Fill cracks, holes and split wood with Dixie Mud.
  •  Decide on the color you want to paint.  Don't worry, this color is not set in stone.  You can always change, blend or keep the color you choose.
  • Multiple colors add dimension to your piece as well as gilding wax and other Dixie Belle Glazes, Gilding Waxes and Gemstone Mousse.
  •  We always start a piece and let the first coat of Dixie Belle Mineral Chalk Paint dry completely.  Apply a second coat.
  • Best tip at this point is to walk away.  If you can wait a day to go back at it, WAIT.  If you can walk away from it after a few hours and go back to, then do that.  Excellent pieces take time and patience.  Never try to complete something in one time frame. When you get tired, stop.  Being tired will cause for sloppy work.
  •  Search U-Tube for Dixie Belle Mineral Chalk Paint Techniques on blending, embellishing and waxing.
  • Now that you have finished your piece to this point, decide if you want to ad ReDesign with Prima Transfers, Decoupage & Rice Papers, Moulds or Decor Stencils and Stick & Style Stencil Rolls.  
  • You can use chalk paste with Stencils for a 3 D effect on your piece.  Have fun at this stage.  Stencils, Transfers and Moulds all can be used together to add beauty to your project.
